How To: The Orange Lip

Whether you are a makeup artist or a beauty enthusiasts, our Beauty 101 tutorials are perfect for learning new makeup tips and techniques.

Start with your favorite concealer.

Apply the concealer around the mouth to even out the skin tone.

IF YOU WISH, APPLY A LIP PRIMER BEFOREHAND.

Use your favorite orange lip liner to trace the natural line of the lips.

For a more defined shape and dimension, try a lip liner one to two shades darker within the same color range.

FOR FULLER LOOKING LIPS, EXTEND THE LINER SLIGHTLY BEYOND YOUR NATURAL LIP LINE… DON’T GO OVERBOARD!

Generously fill in the entire lip in with the liner.

TRY A LIPLINER THAT IS SUPPLE AND EASY TO APPLY

Once you’ve applied liner to the entire lip, you may choose to wear this look as is and go.

Now apply your favorite lipstick.

For precision, use a lip-brush

A brush helps preserve your lipstick by applying only what you need.

Lipstick applied over the liner reinforces color and provides staying power!

FOR MORE INTENSITY, APPLY A SECOND COAT OF LIPSTICK

And there you have it!

Beauty 101 - How To: The Winged Eye

Whether you are a makeup artist or a beauty enthusiasts, our Beauty 101 tutorials are perfect for learning new makeup tips and techniques.

Begin this look with a sheer cream eye shadow as a base.

SOME PREFER USING A PRIMER BEFORE STARTING BUT IT’S NOT A MUST

A pearl or nude shade is highly recommended.

TIP: PEACH OR APRICOT SHADES ARE RECOMMENDED FOR DEEPER SKIN TONES

The cream base brightens the eye area and will act as a buffer between the skin and powder eye shadow that will be used later.

Be sure to cover the entire eye area from lid to brow-bone

You may also take a dab of the cream base and apply it to the tear ducts. This technique adds dimension and opens…

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter
I’ve been using this lotion for 15 years at the very least! Their lotion hydrates/moisturizes but also has just the right amount of oil to seal that moisture in. I like it for the face and body.

Claires/E.L.F Cream Eyeliner
I originally bought this liner from Claires and really loved the creamy, no-smudge formula. It turns out E.L.F sells the exact same liner (but for 2 dollars less!). I use this on my brows and my eyes almost every day.

Ruby Kisses Luxe Colour Shadow in Center of Attention
I love red eye makeup, and though it’s very hard to find, I just happened upon this one day. It is only a dollar and comes ready to be put in a customizable palette.

Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion
This is my first step to makeup removal. I just rub it all over my face and it does a great job of lifting all of my makeup, making it extremely easy to rinse away with soap and water.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (Deep Dark)
It is very hard for me (and other brown skinned people) to find a good powder that won’t make my face look chalky. I love it ‘cause the powder is so satiny and has a slight shimmer to it that gives my face a natural glow. Coverage is also buildable, which is a great plus!
